You know it's not a good idea to write your own fics when the only reason you're doing so is because no one's been writing new stuff in the fandom you feel like reading.

Touché. However, my clever plans all those years was to have been drawing so that people assume I'm doing my part of the fandom and forget that I do not write.

Doodling is totally fair enough. I do actually need those episode summaries (I keep looking at my list when reading a fic's 'episode related' warning since I can't remember the meager 13 of them) but it also is mainly because there isn't much Merlin fanart in general, as you well know. So between writing because there's nothing new and drawing because there is not enough, I'd say we are pretty similar.
