I found that [livejournal.com profile] yue_ix's idea was really nice, so I decided to do some RECs of my own. I'm doing this for you people who have nothing better to do with your summer. This is what I found good. You might find it unreadable or unsavoury. I don't care.

Litterature
Le Grand Cahier; La Preuve; Le Troisième Mensonge by Agota Kristof

This is an marvelous trilogy. It's a war story. Kinda. It's dark without being dark. It's simple, but complex. It's short, but not sweet. I haven't read anything that special for a long time. A must.

Gabrielle; Adélaïde; Florent by Marie Laberge

It seems like I have a thing with trilogies. This one tells the story of the two world wars seen through the eyes of a quebecer family. Charming, and moving. There're realistic characters for the most part, and the ones that aren't are described as if they could really exist anyway. I read those novels a long while ago, but I remember how much I wanted the last book of the series to come out.

Folle by Nelly Arcan

To tell the truth, I'm still reading it. It looks like it's autobiographic. The story's a bit disturbing for people used to mushy love stories, and stereotypical stuff. It's still litterature, but it's bordering vulgar too. A real life story, and a different view on it.

Geisha by Arthur Golden

A must for every lover of the japanese culture. The characters are bigger than life, and the plot is more believable than most. Reading this book is like living the life a geisha through the pages. A witty, humorous, and slightly sarcastic tone leveling the many challenges of a difficult life for the principal character.

Fanfiction
This is a bit different. I'm reading many fics at the same time, and when finished I tend to delete them. I usually read from two fandoms; Harry Potter, and Stargate. I won't REC Stargate stuff tough, because I read all my stuff on Area52 which anyone on the fandom knows of. So Harry Potter it is...

I'm going through all the stories rec'ed here. Beware that it's slash, and that it's Snarry. Don't go there unless you know what those terms are. Your sensibilities souldn't be my problem.

Finally, the eternally rec'ed A Year Like None Other by Aspen

This story, I really adore. I don't even know why...
